Among the several conditions that are not suitable to wear the contact lens, we have mentioned that keratitis is not suitable to wear the contact lens. Theoretically, after recovery, it is possible to wear the contact lens, but actually eye-doctor is against it. Because the contact lens, once non-standard operation, it easily causes multiple corneal complication and probably leads to reinfection.
While wearing contact lens, if you neglect the sterilization and cleanliness of the contact lens, it will cause the precipitation of the protein and become the place with a large number of bacteria breeding. Especially the long-time wearing of contact lens, it will be the important factors of causing the eye diseases such as bacterial keratitis.
Compared with the eyes, the contact lens is a kind of foreign material. Every wink of the eyes will cause the friction. Besides, if the cornea is covered, it is difficult to get sufficient oxygen, which easily causes the corneal edema and further leads to keratitis, keratohelcosis, and even influences the eyesight.
While wearing and removing the contact lens, it possibly causes damage to the epithelial cell of the cornea, which is common among the new-wearer. Owing to the unskilled technique and poor grasp of force, it easily scratches the cornea. Once the cornea is damaged, it opens a convenient door to the bacteria invasion.
Except for the physical factors, there are also some chemical factors that will cause the inflammation. For example, if use the hydrogen peroxide solution with high sterilizing power, but not completely neutralized, it easily burns the cornea ; or if use some therapeutic eye-drops with over-concentration, it will cause very big irritation to the eyes.
The people who use the contact lens all know well the hygienic requirement. But, in daily life, if in a rush and trouble, one neglect possibly causes life-long damage. So it is necessary to be more cautious and minimize the risk.
